The dreams of children in our villages are simple: to have a pair of shoes, go to school every day instead of gathering water or wood for cooking, have more than one meal a day.
We seek to connect orphans with a sponsor who will faithfully pledge a monthly amount that will:
- Pay for primary school tuition; secondary or technical vocational school fees are provided on a limited basis
- Pay for one pair of shoes and 2 school uniforms for the academic year
- Provide for medical costs of immunizations or eye glasses if needed
Our goal is to secure 70 committed sponsors who wil provide support for school and uniform fees, medical needs and food. Orphans have to support themselves and their younger siblings or live with older family members, usually a grandmother or aunt. The local churches will also provide assistance to ensure that children are safe. Local pastors are responsible for selecting orphans from each of the seven villages affiliated with Zion Global Missions to receive sponsorship. Monthly reports are submitted to Zion Global Missions regarding the status of orphans.
‘myrafiki’, which means ‘myfriend’ in Swahili, is a child to child friendship program designed to foster Christ based cross cultural relationships between kids from developed countries and those from underdeveloped countries. ‘myrafiki’ offers a platform for kids to interact in a holistic and mutually beneficial manner and help them appreciate one another beyond social, cultural, economic, religious and political barriers.

- Write a nice card and tell them how special they are before God.
- Pray for him/her once a day
- Prepare a nice gift pack for him/her that includes a toothbrush, toothpaste, pencils, sharpener, eraser, notebook.
- Give $10 (one time or regular per month) to help with food and other necessities
- Write a note and tell him/her who you are
- Enclose a nice portrait picture of you.
- Bring or send everything back to us and your ‘myrafiki’ will have your gifts in 30 days.
